Song- Haven’t met you yet by, Michael Buble
His brown eyes conveyed the still empty ice cream parlor as he sighed. 'Man, slow day or what?' he thought bitterly. Of course it didn't help that the kids were still in school. Ever since Jack had started going to college for the fall semester, he had figured getting a part-time job would be nice. And what better job would there be then working at an ice cream parlor where he could bring smiles to children's faces? Even if he was forced to wear contact lenses during his shifts, because the cold had a tendency of fogging up his glasses.
Jack's eyes widened then when he noticed the familiar freckled boy round the corner before walking inside his parlor. Jack had never spoken more then two words to him, but he was determined to change that today. He had wanted to try and struck up an actual conversation with him for a while now. But his forest green eyes and crooked smile always left him more or less speechless. In a way Jack supposed he did have a crush on him, and his shyness did nothing to help with his speech. Still, he straightened up and smiled, gesturing at the ice creams displayed behind the glass.
"Boy, ya almost always in here. Ya really like sweets don't ya? Not that I could blame ya, course. So what will ya be having today?" So far so good, now if only he had something interesting to say next.
