Hidden Currents is the seventh book in the Drake Sister series from Christine Feehan. Sisters of the Heart joins the Drake Sister series to make up the Sea Haven collection. It isn't necessary to read the previous books in the Drake Sister series to follow this story, but for a better understanding, I do suggest that you read them as I have done. The protagonists in Hidden Currents are Elle Drake and Jackson Deveau. Throughout the series the author has hinted towards what Elle's profession is and finally in Hidden Currents we discover that she is an agent of some kind. We find her on a boat investigating someone suspected of human trafficking. It's revealed he is involved but that he is also psychic, he kidnaps Elle and tortures her in an attempt to break her and make her his slave. Honestly, I found the first few chapters of this book rather difficult to read. It was written so well that the images of what was happening were very strong in my mind and certain parts of it made my stomach turn a little bit. My favorite character in this book is Jackson. We the readers gain insight into how he became the man he is, we also get to see deeper into his head and learn he isn't quite the bad ass he wants everyone to believe he is. I very much love the way this book ended, it tied all the books in the series together nicely and opened it up for two other series. I would suggest this book for anyone who likes romance or paranormal romance.
