Today, I pulled out an assortment of paintings by Talitha Botsford and spread them out in our Education Room. Tomorrow, J.D. Iles will be here doing his Hidden Landmarks Live broadcast about Botsford and her work. I will be taking the day off because I accumulated a lot of extra time from last week’s Ghost Walk, but our executive director said he would supervise.
In other news, the decision was made to close the museum to the public until further notice starting tomorrow. Chemung County has seen a steep increase in covid-19 cases and has been designated an orange zone by New York State. We weren’t required to close, but are doing so for the safety of guests, volunteers, and staff. As of this moment, the staff will still be working in the offices, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we start working from home again.
