Guys! So I was listening to Hamilton last night and I’m mouthing along to the words, you know, giving my own performance, as one does. And I got to the line in My Shot that goes “ Only nineteen but my mind is older, these New York streets get colder, I shoulder” but I didn’t say that, I said one of Phillips lines from Blow Us All Away that goes “ I’m only nineteen but my mind is older, Gotta be my own man, like my father but bolder”. And I’ve never realized that those two lines were had the same beginning, and based on each other, but I did some more thinking and I realized. Alexander Hamiltons story started at nineteen when he came to New York and joined the revolution that’s when his story starts. And on the other end Philips story ends when he’s nineteen when he gets shot in a duel. A very clever hidden line by Lin, I have been obsessed with Hamilton for years, have basically the entire show memorized, but I’ve never picked up that detail.
