Twice a week or more, Dexter would visit Aaralyn, the local street rat. He was kind enough to bring her food and the basics to help her get by, but overall Dexter wasn’t some rich guy. Dexter worked to get by, pay the bills like everyone else. Not one that went to college or was book smart but he knew how the streets worked and how some people’s lives would get that they become homeless.

After work he had noticed a guy looking through Aaralyn’s things like some kind of snoop wanting to steal. “Hey! Get the fuck out of here!” He spooked the guy off and cleaned up the mess that the stranger had made.

Liam looked down at the little makeshift cage he put the girl in. He ate nonchalantly out of a cheetos bag, watching her carefully. “So….you gonna be good? Because watching you kinda distracts me from figuring out what got you like…this.”
