I feel the same!! I didn’t appreciate taking the piss out of pretty much everything that made loki as he is, it was like disregarding his whole plot but I also liked (maybe preferred) ragnarok loki but he is ooc from the others so now he’s a bit of a mix and match. We had angst loki first, then insane loki, then whatever dark world was supposed to be. I kinda wish he’d just been ragnarok loki from the start but it’s also like just pick a loki and stick to it!!
I think TDW Loki was actually the best blend overall (even tho im most likely filling in a LOT with just my own and others’ endless fanon for the movie), there were still comic aspects of him without being as villainous as in Avengers, but unlike Thor 1 and Avengers I could more clearly see things that reminded me of myth!Loki. But he was still battling his angsty feelings left over from Thor 1, and he got to vent that to Thor and even yell and take it out on him a bit (that enthusiastic leap down the sand dune after he fake stabs thor always makes me giggle, like ‘wheeee!’). And I agree Ragnarok Loki wasn’t a bad thing just because he was more lighthearted! A god like Loki really should be depicted making light of dark things so I do appreciated that in theory, but then also Hiddles did us a huge favor, because even without saying much he spoke so many extra lines just with his face whenever Thor or Odin breathe in his direction, I regularly just think to myself ‘holy shit what if Loki was played by one of those actors who don’t understand the impact of micro-expressions’~
