Redraw / drawover thing of a random manga panel I got an ad for, because one guy reminded me of Hidetoshi. But I had to stop putting effects / adding the nice stuff or I'd never be done.
I've been in an art rut for quite awhile, and usually any sort of redraw or drawover helps me jumpstart stuff, but I'm really stuck in it right now. Think it's just something I gotta work through one day at a time!

“A tie… this is really nice, Hidetoshi-kun. It wasn’t too expensive, was it?” The box was quickly forgotten on the table next to them, Makoto looping the length of the fabric between his fingers, looking closely at the pattern the lights above them revealed.
“Nonsense, money’s no object. Clothes make the man; going into our third year you’ll be getting ready for college, work, the wider world. You can have the nicest suit in the room, but if you don’t know how to wear a tie, they won’t take you seriously. This is nothing compared to what you’ve done to help me… It’s a ‘thank you’, for everything.” He bowed his head, not able to meet those searching eyes after spouting out such heartfelt truths. He’d been right. They complimented each other excellently.

Summary:
Hidetoshi knew something was wrong, but nothing he dug up – whether it was information he should technically have or not – helped him towards the truth. Makoto had seemingly vanished, and he couldn’t shake the need to figure things out. He cursed Keisuke’s sentimentality rubbing off on him when he called that familiar contact – it hadn’t worked the first day, it wouldn’t work now… But this time, it didn’t ring.
