Me in front of my favorite bar, High 5s.
you dislike dave? can i pls high 5 u
its complicated.
I say i don't like dave because well...I don't like him. mostly because my reread led me to conclude that half of john's insecurities are tied to things dave teases him about and thats really shitty for a "friend" to do okay
I still think he's an amazing character though and appreciate his presence in the story.
2 things:
1. But I'm a Tomboy reached its 6,000th follower today!
2. I will be writing fashion things for Autostraddle! (wish come true)
we've come a long wayyy! (confetti)
Anyone else hate high 5's and hand shakes?
Maybe it's just me and my teenager, but I just find them, especially high 5's, to be lame. I know why hand shakes are considered a proper social norm in our country. I just don't like them either.
A little part of my dislike of them is that I don't know where your hand has been. How do I know if you're one of those people that don't wash their hands after going to the bathroom or just sneezed into your hand? (I don't touch doorknobs bare handed for the same reason unless I plan to wash my hand right away or have a wipe on me.)
Give me a hug if you're really friendly. I love hugs.
Give me a polite nod if you need to be more professional or don't like physical contact.
High 5's don't do it to me unless that's really the only way you communicate. (Like that one guy at the CC book signing.)
Handshakes, I'll do them if I must to be "professional" and "fit into the social norm," but I really don't like to.
ETA: For some reason, I don't have a problem with fist bumps. Those are cool and just fine.
I know, I'm weird. It's in my DNA. :p
Ellen made me work for it. It was pretty special.
