Sammy wasn’t sure how long he, Norman, and Wally had been imprisoned in this place. The three of them had been out patrolling when they’d come across a band of German soldiers being attacked, seemingly by their own allies. Unfortunately, another two had gotten the drop on them, knocking out all three Americans. When they awoke, they learned that they were prisoners of a group called Hydra. Once allied with Na zi Germany, the organization had recently cut ties, and was now planning complete conquest of the world.
Knowing that, and not being able to do anything made Sammy’s blood boil.
“Hey, Sammy!”
Sammy turned sharply to look at Wally, but before he could say anything, he saw that the cages were being opened. A man in a blue helmet with a letter A was instructing the newly freed prisoners.
“The tree line is northwest, 80 yards past the gate. Get out fast and give ‘em hell.”
“Wait. You know what you’re doing?”
“Yeah. I knocked out Adolf Hitler over 200 times.”
With that, he ran off.
Despite their confusion, the men still did as told, overpowering the guards and grabbing their weapons. Sammy climbed into one of the tanks, accompanied by Wally and Norman.
“Man, are we gonna have a story to tell.”
Grinning, Sammy took the controls. “Damn straight. Now let’s do this.”
Less than two weeks later, the three men were home, eager to tell the rest of the studio about being rescued by Captain America.
