How was your orientation? Did you meet anyone new there?

Hi friend! Orientation was amazing! I went in excited and I left exhilarated to start school. One of the biggest concerns I had prior to going to orientation was what classes I needed to take. Seriously, I was so scared because I had no clue! With the help of the advisors and the lectures that we were able to sit in, I felt as if I was one step ahead of the game! I did have a chance to learn more about the school’s Learning Community program, which I did sign up for.

In terms of meeting new people, I definitely had the opportunity to interact and meet many many freshmen! Being a sort of shy - extremely shy guy I was slowly able to open up and talk freely. Within my orientation group we started off very quiet, but as day one rolled by most of us really became good friends. Oh! And because of our amazing, awesome swag orientation leader our group won the spirit stick! Amazing right? School spirit is big here, so you will learn what it means to be a Highlander. :)

We were also given the opportunity to learn more about the clubs and organizations that remain on campus. A group of friends and I are planning on trying out for the dance team! Well, I can’t really dance… but they do offer free workshops. Haha!

In the end, I am all out excited for fall quarter to start. If you haven’t had your orientation already, I hope that your experience will be as great as mine. Sorry if I didn't go into too much detail, but I really don’t want to spoil too much of Highlander Orientation! I wish you the best!

 P.S.: Bring some comfortable shoes! There is somewhat a lot of walking. 😥
