[FANACCOUNT] 092215 BTS Highlight Tour 2015 in SF
so I was lucky enough to be able to go to Highlight in SF yesterday with a vip pass. like you guys have probably heard, the event was extremely unorganized, hectic, and just confusing. this is my first concert experience as well as my first time seeing the boys in person/meeting them. i’ll start with the bad things first and then work my way over to the best parts of the event.
i got to the venue around 5 with my cousin. tgm staff said that we weren’t allowed to crowd the sidewalk but that’s exactly what it was lmao. by the entrance of the venue, it was just a huge crowd of people and then lines were formed around both sides of the building. i had yet to get my vip wristband for the event and was waiting in line with a lot of other people who had just arrived as well. for a while, we just stood and talked and moved up a few inches once in awhile. a little later, a security guard was telling everybody with vip passes to go up to the front to talk to a staff member and get their wristbands. so i went with two girls i had just met up towards the front of the venue and we chatted excitedly while we waited for the staff member to come check our receipts and give us our bands. i was talking to the staff member who I believed to be Tanya (@tgm_tanya on twitter) and I asked her if it was okay to show her the receipt on my phone and she responded “Yeah! at this point, I don’t give a shit because I haven’t slept in 2 days and I haven’t eaten anything all day” and I was really surprised but I just told her that I hope she feels better and gets some rest. right after this is when i see BTS in person for the first time and god, they are so fuckin beautiful. if you’d like to read A VERY LONG POST about my experience with the autograph session, the concert, the hi-touch event, and the photo session, please check under the read more !!!
after we got our wristbands, we were shown to the door by another staff member and a man and a security guard were waiting for us. they checked that we had our wristbands and then showed us inside so that we could start our autograph session. i was so fucking surprised oh my god. i thought they were going to take us further into the building but all the members of bts were sitting at a long table RIGHT BY THE DOOR with several security guards and staff members on standby. the signing was very fast and i didn’t get to say much cause i was so flustered and i was so taken aback by the fact that bts was right in front of me. i think the first person was Jin (my memory is a bit hazy orz) and the guard put a poster down on the table in front of him to sign and he told me not to touch the poster and to keep moving. it was too fast and i had no time to talk to them so i just bowed and told them thank you in korean. jin didn’t look to be in the greatest of moods and he didn’t really smile or say anything and all he did was sign the poster but tbh i understand why he was in a bad mood especially with all this confusion.
the second member is Taehyung and he looks so sweet and adorable and so nice and he signs my poster and gives me a small smile and says hi, thank you, and bye. at this point, i’m still in shock so i have barely said ANYTHING but rly i didn’t even have time to say anything even if i wanted to. the next person is Rap Monster, and g O D , HE LOOKS SO GOOD. he’s wearing a gray sweater and he’s so good looking holy shit those dimples -- ok anyways, he signs my poster, looks me in the eye, says thank you and then says “bye bye” and INTERNALLY I SCREAMED TBH. i move on to the next member who is Suga, MY BIAS, and I can barely even look at him oh god he’s so beautiful he looks like an angel. he says hello, signs my poster, smiles at me and then passes it on to the next person. the order of the members might be wrong because i was just freaking out and i could barely even take in any details tbh.
I think the next member is Jungkook and holy shit. his hair is up and swept to the side and he looks so fricken good. he looks at me with those big eyes and he smiles before signing my poster and saying goodbye and passing it to Jimin. Jimin IS SO SO SO SWEET HE LOOKS LIKE AN ANGEL. i made eye contact with him and we stared at each other for a long time oh my god. he signs my poster, says thank you in his cute lil voice and passes the poster to the last member, HOBIE. GOD HOBIE IS SO NICE HOLY SHIT. he gives me a big smile and says hello, signs my poster, looks up at me and passes me the poster and says thank you. they were all so fricken good looking. at this point the guard is telling me to keep moving so i take my poster and walk out through the doors to get in line for the concert.
im still in awe and i meet up again with the 2 girls who i met earlier cause they finished before i did. we’re all silent for a while cause we don’t know what to say and we’re all in shock because bts is real and they were literally right next to us. we started talking about beautiful they were and how amazing they were and how the security guards were rushing us but we were all so grateful to have met them at all. for a while, we wait with nothing to do. we aren’t sure what we’re waiting for at this point cause there aren’t any staff members around. we stand there for a while just talking and processing that we just met our bias group. a while later a security guard tells us that we’re gonna be heading into the auditorium for the concert. me and a lot of other people are very confused because we were supposed to get seat assignments and no one had one. so we went out to the front to talk to a staff member who had the masterlist of names and she gave us our seat numbers and told us to head inside. i’ve lost the 2 girls i was with because i had gotten in line first and when i got my information i was going to wait for them inside but a lady who must work at the theater told me to head into the auditorium if i already had my seat assignment so i did.
i went to go find my seat assignment and found that someone was already sitting there. i asked if i could see her wristband and sure enough she had the same seat number written on it as i did. our seats got mixed up and it looked to me that a lot of people were having the same problem. so i asked a security guard for help and he got me a staff member. the staff member after being gone for a while came back and told me to just sit wherever. at this point i’ve been waiting for a while and there were no more good seats left on the first floor. so i went upstairs to the balcony and found a staff member giving out the event t-shirts that we paid for so i picked mine up and then headed to the balcony. i sat all the way on the right side in the very front. i had a really good view of bts and no one was blocking me so i wasn’t complaining.
i talk to two girls who are sitting beside me and they’re cool and easy to talk to but everyone in this fandom is so adorable and nice like wow i love ARMYs they’re so damn cute orz. anyways, the show starts and Consio, the local act, comes out and he performs 4 songs. he got us pretty hype and we were all screaming and cheering for him and his featuring artist who i did not get the name of. the featuring artist tell us that we’re a really great crowd and that lifted my mood a little bit tbh. so after he performs 4 songs he asks if we’re ready for bts and we all scream and at this point i feel like i’ve gone deaf and my voice is already starting to sound strained LOL.
after a few moments in the dark, we all start chanting BTS and it’s so loud and we’re all in sync and it’s so cool and it’s just an amazing experience. a staff member asks us over the speakers if we’re ready for bts and we all scream and for a few moments we’re left in the dark. then we start to hear and see people move onto the stage and we all start screaming again. IT’S BTS AND THE FIRST SONG THEY PERFORM IS N.O., AS SOON AS THE SONG STARTS WE ALL STAND UP AND START MOVING OUR ARMS AND MOVING TO THE BEAT AND SINGING THE LYRICS AND IT WAS SO AMAZING. THEY ARE SUCH AMAZING PERFORMERS LIKE THEY WERE B O R N TO PERFORM. I’M SCREAMING THE LYRICS THE ENTIRE TIME AND MOVING TO THE BEAT WITH THE GIRLS NEXT TO ME AND WHEN THE SONG ENDS ALL YOU HEAR IS CHEERING FOR A FEW MOMENTS.
the members gather at the front and some of them grab some water to drink and then Monie starts talking. i couldn’t really hear any of them all that well because the sound system honestly fuckin sucks. they all introduce themselves and there’s just extremely loud cheering after every member introduces themselves and at that moment i’m thinking, “i wish i could scream louder.” i think V introduced himself as “alien” and it was so cute it was a shame that i couldn’t hear very well. they spend a few minutes talking and he declares that bts will have A REAL CONCERT IN SF someday and we all start screaming and he says that we should definitely come if they do and we all agree. jhope asks about what to do in sf and what kind of food to eat, jimin talks about cable cars and how he rode one earlier, and then after a little bit more talking they prepare for the next stage.
they go into Boy In Luv and as soon as I hear the song come on, i’m screaming and AT THIS POINT I’M GETTING VERY EMOTIONAL. IM SINGING THE LYRICS AND I CHOKE UP A LITTLE BIT AND HAVE TO STOP FOR A SECOND CAUSE I GOT CAUGHT UP IN MY FEELINGS SO BAD BUT SOON ENOUGH I’M SINGING ALONG AGAIN RIGHT IN TIME FOR JHOPE’S PART AND HE POINTS THE MIC AT US AND WE ALL SHOUT HAKUNA MATATA AS LOUD AS WE CAN LOL. i sang all the songs at the top of my lungs like it was so fun and so amazing and i seriously felt like everyone in the crowd was like a family?? is that weird?? idk but it was so amazing we were all in sync all singing the same lyrics all watching the same band and we were all so passionate and we never stopped cheering for one moment during the concert.
as soon as boy in luv ends, they go into Dope immediately. as soon as the track comes and rapmon says his line at the beginning, all of us are out of our seats again and we’re screaming and cheering and singing along. it was so fucking amazing. the choreography is even better in person. so we’re all singing along to Dope and screaming the lyrics at the top of our lungs and Suga points the mic towards us during certain parts and we all sing the lyrics in unison and i think during the concert is when they look the happiest. they look sooo pleased with the crowd and that makes me so happy. Suga points the mic towards us during the parts he says “enemy, enemy, enemy” and “energy, energy, energy” and i’m screaming so much that my throat is starting to hurt really bad but i don’t stop because you can’t just not cheer at a bts concert.
the boys leave the stage and jimin is the last to leave and before he leaves he waves and says “bye!” and then it’s really dark and a lot of us have settled back into our seats thinking the concert is over and we’re waiting for further instructions. they only performed 3 songs so we’re obviously wanting more and so we start chanting BTS again and theN THE SCREEN LIGHTS UP AND SAYS “are you still there?” AND WE’RE ALL FUCKING SCREAMING LIKE GOING CRAZY AND I SWEAR I WAS DEAF FOR A COUPLE SECONDS LOL AND THEN THE TEXT CHANGES AND IT SAYS “are you still with us?” AND WE’RE ALL LIKE YES AND WE’RE ALL SCREAMING AND I CAN’T REMEMBER WHAT IT SAYS AFTER BUT I KNOW THE LAST PART SAYS “here we go again, with BTS” WITH THEIR LOGO ON THE BOTTOM AND WE’RE ALL SCREAMING AND THE BOYS COME OUT AGAIN AND I NEED U STARTS PLAYING AND I’M ALMOST ON THE VERGE OF TEARS AND IM SCREAMING MY FUCKIN LUNGS OUT AND I SWEAR TO GOD I FELT LIKE I WAS GOING TO THROW UP MY LUNGS AT ANY SECOND AND SUGA TURNS THE MIC TO US AND LETS US RAP THE ENTIRE FIRST PART AND I SCREAM IT SO LOUD AND IM SO EMOTIONAL LIKE HOLY SHit
let me tell u that seeing i need u in person is so much better than any performance or any fancam. like unless you’ve seen it in person, you have no idea. the part where they’re on one knee and doing body rolls is so fucking amazing it’s like you just died and went to fuckin bts heaven. i was completely focused on Hobi cause holy shit he has very nice thighs and it was just UNREAL. after I Need U, they go backstage and this time the concert really is over and so they lights come back on but we’re still chanting for them even though we all know it’s over orz. at this point i’m so fricken sweaty and gross looking and I HAVE HI-TOUCH AND PHOTOS RIGHT AFTER THIS GOOD GOd. a staff member announces that it’s okay for attendees with vip passes to go out into the courtyard to get in line for hi-touch first. so i do and i’m very confused on what each line was for. i wanted to know if there were separate lines for the photo session, the hi-touch session, or if there was a line for people like me who had both. i asked a nearby guard what the line i was standing in was for and he said “everything” and i was just ????? wtf like how unorganized can an event be lol
the event was so extremely confusing and the boys were probably just as confused as we were. earlier during the autograph signing, the guys looked like they weren’t in good moods and hobi wasn’t as energetic as he usually is and they didn’t talk as much as they usually do. and jin just didn’t talk at all. v wasn’t messing around or smiling and i knew something was wrong. at first i assumed that it was because they were still tired and jetlagged from their long flight to sf from korea or that they were tired from the flight because they had to get up early and because they were probably working on their comeback for next month too. but i read a different fan account that said that they were annoyed with the staff and how unorganized they were and how out of sorts they were and because so many ARMYs were having hard times and were complaining. i was really emotional after reading that because i feel so bad for them having to work with such an unorganized group of people and having so many ARMYs complaining. i thought that they were annoyed/irritated with us fans and i was really sad but i know they love us a lot so i got over it eventually.
aN YWAYS, i met a nice girl in front of me who is also A YOONGI STAN AND WE WERE TALKING ABOUT FANTAKEN PHOTOS FROM AN EARLIER PERFORMANCE AND THEIR MOST RECENT PHOTOSHOOT AND WE WERE BOTH FANGIRLING LIKE YESSSS. and i stayed with her for a majority of the time. they let the people with only hi-touch passes go first i think they just wanted to get them over with and then give us vip attendees go through the hi-touch and then to the photo session. they were rushing us soo much and we literally did not have time to talk to each member. hitouch was like 1 second per member. the first person this time was rapmonster, he was so fucking tall with his dimpled face and his warm hands ahhh. he said hey and i greeted him and then touched his hand and then next was Suga and i looked at him and we greeted each other and i held his hand for a little longer cause ya know he’s my bias LOL and this is where my memory gets a little hazy again. I think the next person is V and he’s so adorable with his round glasses and he’s so sweet and he was smiling and i touched his hand and he lightly gripped mine in return and i just felt my soul wither and fly out of my mouth to be honest i wanted to collapse right then and there LMAO.
i’m not sure who the next member is but i think it’s Jin and he looks sosososso good and his shoulders are so broad and so nice and he has rly nice lips guys but he doesn’t look to be in a good mood so I just grab his hand gently and bow to him in greeting before moving to Jungkook who looks like a fucking godsend. he says hello and his EYES MAN I CAN’T GET OVER HIS EYES HE LOOKS STRAIGHT INTO YOUR GODDAMN SOUL WHEN HE LOOKS AT YOU AND I COULDN’T EVEN MAKE EYE CONTACT FOR LONG CAUSE I FELT LIKE I WAS GOING TO CLAW MY SWEATY FACE OFF IN EMBARRASSMENT. next to Jungkook is Jimin and fuck he looks so adorable and he’s so tall and huge, they all are. they’re ALL GIANTS LIKE PICTURES DO THESE BOYS NO JUSTICE. THEY ARE MUCH TALLER AND EVEN BETTER LOOKING IN PERSON LIKE HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE THIS GOOD LOOKING??? I DON’T?? WHAT
I just lightly touched jimin’s hand and i was going to move on bUT HE FUCKING GRABBED MY HAND AND SQUEEZED IT BEFORE SMILING AND LETTING GO AND SAYING BYE AND I FELT MYSELF ASCEND TO HEAVEN BECAUSE I CAN DIE HAPPILY NOW THAT I’VE SEEN THEM PERFORM AND I’VE HELD ALL THEIR HANDS LIKE GOOD GOD THEIR HANDS ARE ALL SO SOFT AND WARM LIKE THEY ARE THE HANDS OF ANGELS FROM HEAVEN HOLY SHIT. last is Hobie and he is the brightest fucking person to ever walk this planet. he overdoes his positive act on broadcasts to make things interesting but he tones it down a lot during fan interactions but he’s still so comfortable to be around and so nice and so fucking bright he is the actual sun he’s so warm and the jimin thing happened again.
i was going to lightly touch his hand and move back outside to get in line for photo sessions but HE GRABS MY HAND AND SQUEEZES IT AND HE MIGHT AS WELL JUST GRAB MY HEART RIGHT OUT OF MY CHEST AND SQUEEZE IT CAUSE THAT’S WHAT IT FELT LIKE I WAS IN PHYSICAL PAIN BECAUSE THEY WERE ALL SO CUTE AND NICE AND LOVING AND AFFECTIONATE AND HOBIE GAVE ME THE BIGGEST SMILE AND I WANTED TO HUG HIM BUT obviously i didn’t since it’s against the rules and because that’s an invasion of his personal space and not cool at it (mugs the fuck out of the fan who jumped on and hugged V, smfh) my hi-touch event is over and i move outside and meet back up with the yoongi stan from earlier and i almost broke down right there (im very surprised i haven’t cried at this point) but i held myself together and i just started saying how surreal this all was and she was laughing and saying i was adorable and she brought of yoongi and i just wanted to die right there i was just “aaaAAAHHHH” LIKE I JUST SCREAMED A LIL BIT TBH AND SHE WAS LAUGHING AND I WAS ON THE VERGE OF deATH
after more confusion and a little more waiting, we were numbered from 1-25 and sent in to take photos with bts. this is one of those moments i’m glad as fuck that i’m short cause i got to stand in the front. i was originally going to try and stand by yoongi but im glad standing by any member. we walked in and the members were standing around and i just took it all in like holy fuck look at these amazing guys right in front of me i’ve been waiting since they debuted for an opportunity to see them and i was talking to V in korean and said that I had to stand in the front cause I was short and he laughed a little bit and looked at me while smiling and i just FJKASDJFAKLJL.
when we took the picture we were in 2 rows and then thE MEMBERS CAME UP AND KNEELED IN FRONT OF US I WAS LIKE WHAT THE FUCK. HOW ARE U GOING TO MAKE THESE BOYS KNEEL OH MY GOD. v was standing in front of me and the photographer couldn’t capture all of us in the photo (no shit there were 25+ people in the damn picture and they wanted to get the event over with so they grouped so many of us together when it was only supposed to be 8 of us smfh) and so we all had to get closer together and i was so fucking close to V (my cousin’s bias, hHAHAA. when i told her that i was next to him during the photo she said “fuck you” with the straightest face LMAO) like i was freaking out, holy shit. i smiled and we all did peace signs and im just praying to GOD i don’t look like a sweaty mess in the photo.
it was such an amazing experience and i hope that Rap Monster was being serious when he said they were gonna have a real concert in SF because I will definitely go and buy VIP passes again if they have them. i would do anything to see these boys again in better conditions during a more organized event and see them perform more songs. i hope if I see them again that I can see them smiling and that I can have actual conversations with them. if you’ve read this far, i give you props tbh cause this is so long. i just wanted to write out my fan experience cause it still doesn’t feel real and it hasn’t hit me that i’ve met my bias group yet tbh. i love them so much they’re all so hardworking and diligent and lovable. they’re amazing and they were born to perform. i’ll never forget this experience.
