@higoyoku ᴀsᴋᴇᴅ: “You play the shamisen,” Tanjiro says — more to himself than Hibiki. He hands her a book, making sure she feels the braille on the front cover. “It’s a book filled with music sheets for music you can play … those are in braille too so you can run your fingers along the notes. Happy Birthday.” // happy (late) birthday, hibiki!
First there is surprise upon being handed a book, something that most would realize Hibiki had no use for, but brows raise further toward her hairline upon feeling the raised bumps along the spine and front cover. Her features soon smooth into a softened smile as she ‘reads’ the letters embossed where the title is located. Honestly, she is not as well-versed in braille as she should be, but this book of songs will certainly give her an excuse to learn more.
❝Tanjiro...❞ she says gently, then holding the book to her chest like a precious thing. The boy is only slightly younger than she, but his boundless kindness far outnumbers his years. ❝Thank you. I will treasure it. I’ll let you know when I’ve learned one so you can listen, okay?❞
