Naruto Fanfiction Appreciation Week - Day 7: Favorite Author

I can't choose just one author; I am far too indecisive and find it to be very easy to love things with my whole being. And I haven't yet had the chance to do too much reading; but I'll list five of my favorite Naruto writers (and even that is very difficult). They are: @blackkatmagic (blackkat), @hii-raeth (Hiiraeth), @keepyourpantsongohan (ao3 link), @sloaners (beetlebee), and tomorrowsrain.

Each author has their own strengths and weaknesses, and their storytelling is varied. But they are all phenomenal at writing. Their character portrayals are superb; their imagery is crystal clear; the character relationships are wonderful; the dialogue and narrative always feels natural; when there is worldbuilding it is incredible; and their stories are always an utter delight to read. I love them and their stories, and cannot possibly give them enough praise or recommend them enough.

Naruto Fanfiction Appreciation Week - Day 2: Favorite Gen Story

I couldn't pick just one. And there are some implied romantic relationships between characters, but they're either not expressly stated or the main focus of the story. Sorry if I got it wrong though.

Against the Grain by @keepyourpantsongohan

It is a fascinating character study of Tenzo, Kakashi, and Obito; and it was tough for the author to get in the right mindset, but I believe that she did an amazing job. A lot of effort went into it, and it's a thought provoking story that stays with you long after you've read it. (Which is true with all of these, really.)

And, since Against the Grain could be considered kakayama or tenzashi, Further Down the Line by @keepyourpantsongohan as well.

It's a post canon conversation between Kakashi and Tenzo, and is about Kakashi and how he feels about Obito. It brings up some things that should have been expressed, and the dialogue and characterizations are amazingly well written and spot on.

Also the Uneasy Lies the Head series by @hii-raeth.

This is a phenomenal series centering on Kakashi as Hokage and on his wonderful found family, and on the world post canon (mostly; it does diverge from the very end of canon). It has adventure, danger, humor, family, friends, heartwarming moments, moments of despair, and some of the best world building I've seen in this fandom.

And the history has its eyes on you series by tasalmalin.

This series is a Kakashi-centric time travel fix it AU, and the first few stories are incredibly bleak, but there is hope on the horizon. The alterations from canon are very intriguing and sometimes very surprising; and the ending is absolutely beautiful and incredibly heartwarming.
