Oh my gosh. I seriously wish someone had told me sooner about this show. It's literally everything I could have wished for and then some and more.
Fic? YES. A BAZILLION TIMES YES. I have been fighting the urge to go on AO3 and just overload myself, but yes. I can totally see myself doing that.
I kinda have a bit of that going on here with @odetothesainthoodinme save that she has some seriously bad real life stuff going on so it's thrown huge wrenches and muskets and Bentleys into it things. But if you look somewhere amid my absolutely horrible outtakes and merch pictures, you should be able to find the posts on it.
But yes I will. My muse is coming back after a very long drought and horrible things to start the year off with. No magic though; I don't think I could do justice to the whole Magical Girl Contracts Will Fuck Up Your Life bit. Gotta save that for CAT THING err... Kyubey :D

Thank you for the ask! I guess I was kind asking for it, with a title like that, lol. This was an experiment in Gray x Cliff shipping and intimate scenes using their characterizations I used in The Shy Newcomer. I found that their personalities go really well together and there's potential for a cute story about them. I didn't really have a huge plot for this one, but it was more of an exercise in seeing their chemistry and discovery of characters realizing they're attracted to more than one gender.
The scenes probably won't be used anywhere, but it was fun to write, and the chemistry could potentially be repurposed.

He drew his hand up his torso, feeling the lean muscles of his abs and pectorals before resting on his shoulder. His body wasn't soft like any of his old girlfriends', but...
Cliff stirred, his eyes snapping open at the contact, but he relaxed a bit and let out a soft sigh as he pulled him into a hug.
This is different... Nice, though.
He leaned in, his eyes flicking back toward Cliff's lips.
So this one is just random silliness I came up with in my excitement realizing that my OTPs across 3 series I love share the same Japanese voice actresses, so my brain went into overdrive imagining how the characters would react if they were to meet each other.
The 3 pairings and series are:
Reinako
Bumbleby (RWBY – Blake Belladonna x Yang Xiao Long)
Veleanor (Tales of Berseria – Velvet Crowe x Eleanor Hume)
I learnt that Rei (Crystal, Eternal, Cosmos) and Velvet are both voiced by Satou Rina, and Yang (Japanese dub) and Eleanor are both voiced by Koshimizu Ami (who also voiced Crystal, Eternal and Cosmos version Kino Makoto!)
I currently have 7 ideas of the characters interacting with each other, including being confused by their similar voices. I'm slowly trying to draw the ideas out to post the images as a set. But because I’ve only drawn Rei and Minako before, learning to draw 4 other characters is definitely taking time, especially trying to draw them all with the appropriate height difference. Here are the research notes I’ve made:
🍅 (Tomato) - Favourite and least favourite festival?
There are so many cute festivals! My favorites tend to be the ones with minigames attached to them, like the Swimming Festival (BTN/HM for Girl and Magical Melody - I love the variety of swimwear and the alternate hairstyles!), the Tomato Festival, The Egg Festival (HM64). It's so fun seeing the characters get fired up for the festival, too, or hearing them talk about the carnage afterward, lol.
I'm also a huge sucker for the romantic festivals - my favorites being Goddess Festival and the Moon Viewing Festival. I felt so special playing in HM for Girl and walking around in that adorable dress. The dance was really cute, and I enjoyed the different dialogue depending on who you had for a date.
Moon Viewing felt more casual and candid. I wish there was a little more dialogue, but it was a peaceful, pensive holiday that was cute, if not a little bittersweet depending on who you met on Mother's Hill. I just wish there was more dialogue.
(I'm convinced he's talking about his sister here, and I will die on that hill.)
The festivals I didn't care much for were the ones that barred entry from them if you didn't have high enough affection with anyone. Going to the Fireworks Festival is really cute if you have someone's affection raised enough, but it was a big letdown if you were just all by yourself.
A simple black screen saying "That was fun! Back to work..." was always a little disappointing when that was all the festival entailed.
Or starting out the game and not getting any chocolates... heheh, kinda reminds you how little everyone knows you and how alone you are. 😅

There are so many versions of the Harvest Goddess, but I'm going to focus on the Mineral Town iteration mostly because she's the one I'm most familiar with. As always, I have a tendency to ramble, so I put the rest under a cut! Thank you for the ask! ;)

How I feel about this character
I think the Harvest Goddess is pretty amusing. She is a deity, but she often comes off as petty (“That's all, you get nothing”) and sees humans as curious things, but she doesn't interact with them directly very often. I really enjoy her whimsical personality, and I think that there's a lot of events that could have been written to develop a further personality for her.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
I have a hard time shipping any humans with the Harvest Goddess, as I feel like the relationship would be really unbalanced. I do like her with the Witch Princess – they have a playful dynamic with one another in HMDS and when the goddess is gone, the Witch Princess is genuinely upset because she'll be bored without her.
HG/Carter – I can see this being an interesting dynamic – Carter admits in the game that he finds her attractive, but I can't imagine them actually having a balanced relationship with one another. I can sense a bit of a one-sided crush that Carter actually feels really bad about, because she's his deity.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
HG/Carter – I like the idea of Carter getting visions from the HG to help him guide those who come to seek his counsel.
I really enjoy the idea of the Harvest Sprites reporting to her regularly, and I feel like she could be friends with the Kappa, along with other protective deities. I kind of headcanon that there are several gods/goddesses in HM universe for different things. The HG resides in areas with a lot of vegetation and I like the idea of there being guardian spirits in the mountains and mines looking out for the people who live in Mineral Town. I feel like all the supernatural characters would be in communication with one another and keep each other up to date. Their relationship wouldn't have to be strictly professional, however. I can imagine the HG having tea with the sprites and once winter ends, she starts waking up water lilies and other vegetation around the Kappa lake as Kappa watches over the marine life. Maybe Kappa goes into hibernation and she wakes him up every spring!
My unpopular opinion about this character
I don't like shipping the HG with humans. I find it uncomfortable to marry a deity you worship. I know you can marry different versions of her in different games, along with the Harvest King. I just don't feel like they understand what it means to be human enough to be able to develop romantic feelings for them.
I kinda like that the HG is kinda snarky and rude. Ancient gods and goddesses throughout history often had flaws of jealousy, arrogance, etc, and I think it's cool that they gave her those traits in different incarnations of her.
I like the HG's new hair. The old is nice, too, though. Most of her designs are really pretty, but I really don't care for her new dress in the Mineral Town remake. I want to, but it just feels off.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I do think the standards for befriending her should be really difficult, just like wooing her. I do with that there were actual friendship events with her as you gave her more gifts. Maybe the farmer showing her a little more what it's like to be human. It would also be really cool to have an event where she goes to the church and reacts to Carter and how he's running things there, but he can't see her. Maybe during the different events, she could meet with the farmer and the sprites and the Kappa. There's a lot of room for interesting interactions that could be expanded on.

I’ll definitely try to keep fueling the PGSM Reinako love on tumblr! I have so many more of these post in the works. I already have over 20 ideas lined up for this project. I just need to get them made. lol
I don't know, if you're only using PGSM lyric lines or if other songs are allowed as well, when they catch their dynamic, but I'm listening for a while to the song 'Venus & Mars' from Eliane (it's obvious why lol, don't need to explain myself here I guess) and a lot of lines remind me of these two, but this one stood out the strongest:
'Ten thousand miles away
But we never came apart'
It reminds me of their rebirth, like their strong bond was there before and then they were reborn but found each other again? Or like their bond never stopped existing? Idk.
Could also portrait the distance between them in present time, whereas Minako can remember but Rei can't?
Also, I don't know if you've used something of that song yet, but Katagoshi ni Kinsei offers a lot of lines, that could be used for gifs?
Like 'Someday hold me close to you, because I’ll love you forever and ever'
I will also never get over the fact, that they sang this song together in the Kirari Super Live and Rei just went for Minako's hand at the holding hands line... like... my Reinako heart dies xD

Venus & Mars is definitely self-explanatory! Funny enough I didn't know this song existed, so thank you for the recommendation! I only knew about Mars and Venus by Steps. :P I'm definitely interested in making a gif set after listening to it and using some of the lyrics! I'll need to be creative in trying to create any scenes that are meant to allude to the past life though, or Minako's remembrance of it, since we only have a few short scenes of the past life in PGSM, and none with Mars and Venus. I'm not great with manip fanart. I wish I am. :(
Ahhh. Katagoshi no Kinsei's gonna be a challenge for me. The lyrics are so overtly romance coded, and the fact that Minako sang it before meeting Rei in the show, it'll be tough for me to associate th song to Rei or Reinako because I'm a really literal person, and this line confused me:
窓際によくすわっていた (I was often sitting By the window)
カノ女がいること知ってた (I knew that you had a girlfriend)
Because of this, I'm more likely to make gifs of Sayonara ~Sweet Days or I'm Here instead because I feel like it's more accurate or truthful to Minako's character, and how it relates to her relationship with Rei and the other Senshi.
I do love that Keiko and Ayaka, as Rei and Minako held hands in the performance during Kirari Super Live though! I agree, and my Reinako heart jumped when it happened too! My personal main blog icon is literally of Keiko and Ayaka holding hands from that musical number! lol I definitely will make a gif out of that someday.
Seriously, I wished we had a Rei and Minako duet in the show. Instead, the duet was Rei and Ami, and Usagi and Makoto. At least Minako didn't end up in a duet at all...
Yes, just like I also liveblog the Oshiokiyo, I intend to also liveblog Kirari Super Live, including the bts footage too! I'll be liveblogging it between Act 29 and 30, since that's when the show happened, between the airdates.

My fav is Rei, but somehow fanart ideas of Venus and Minako just comes so much easier. PGSM’s approach to Minako’s character is so complex and leaves so much room for interpretation. Drawing her and Venus together to show their difference is exactly what I intended!
