Headcanon that during the Postmaster episode, the tavern Sarah and James end up at where the mail gets sent decides to have a little party to celebrate. These dudes are playing the fiddle, drums, bagpipes, and spoons and everyone is drinking or dancing.

Sarah originally was going to refuse an ale but it was offered to her on the house and because she trusted James would keep her safe, she drank some. It was terrible. When she asked one of the men at the tavern why they drank it so much, he said, “Because it makes us dumb and happy miss, and right now, we deserve to feel dumb and happy.”

She was still mad at James over his comment about suffering at the hands of the British so she was surprised when he decided he wanted to dance and told her “I’m gonna show you how patriots party.” James told her she could be angry at him later.

Basically, she was scared shitless about going out there dancing wildly with no planned choreography but it ended up being one of the funnest nights of her life. And their dancing? Basically the Irish party in third class scene from Titanic because the dancing and the music slaps HARD.

And yes, they did dance on top of a table.

Who would be James and Sarahs kids?

So, here’s what I think; after they’re married, James and Sarah end up having three children.

The first two are boys named Henry Moses Hiller and Thomas Warren Hiller. Everyone is thrilled that Sarahs first children are twin boys. James fainted after he realized he was a father of twins.

Their third child is a girl and her name is Marian Jane Hiller. Her parents choose the name Marian because when Sarah told James and Henri about Robin Hood, James decided he liked the name Marian for a girl.

To make the labor process less painful, Sarah would discuss politics with anyone assisting her.

James stayed in the delivery room with her because he worried about her too much to distract himself with something else.

All three children have blue eyes from dad and their moms ginger hair. They love visiting their grandpas cottage in the Green Mountains during the summer and their grandma embroiders clothing for them.

Henry and Thomas are troublemakers who drive their mother crazy. Once while she was giving them a bath, and she was pregnant with Marian at the time, they jumped out of the tub and streaked through the streets. A good civilian caught them.

Marian is no better behaved though. Her mom taught her the most important thing she learned after arriving to America and that was that well behaved women are forgotten by history and she takes it as a free pass to make trouble sometimes.

James adores his ginger children. He didn’t think he’d be a good dad because he never had a father in his life, but he’s dad of the era.

All three Hiller ginger babies help out at the print shop.

Sarah still works as a journalist after her kids are born but taking care of them while working is a challenge.
