Ella and I were debating last night over whether Isaac Dian from Baccano is a himbo or not and I think I stumbled upon a new character categorization. Isaac isn't an intelligent himbo.
He's a stupid genius.
Himbo-type: Extremely straightforward thinking. Decisions are confidently made. When a choice is required, the most direct path is preferred even if it ends up being the most trouble. Extremely goal-oriented. Mental equivalent of busting through walls instead of solving a maze.
When a himbo can't easily find a can opener, they'll just grab a knife and hack the can open enough to get the food out. Don't worry about it, they've got it handled.
Genius-type: Finds a way to make simple decisions or tasks much more complicated. May be more willing to admit something tests their limits ('Hmm, this is a tough one'). They may have a tendency to focus on the immediate task instead of thinking several steps ahead to a goal.
When a genius can't find a can opener, they'd create a complicated rube goldberg machine to open it for them before ordering a new one. Luckily they know just the trick.
(Neither one is better or worse than the other. Both of them missed the pull tab on the bottom of the can.)
