This is set during the Apollo Justice game (before the first case but it has spoilers for the first case i mean it’s kinda written in the pov of Omniscient Phoenix who knows everything so heads up for that.)

Also this is mostly dialogue and I hate fics that are only dialogues but here we are.

Thismust be the third time he’s here. Not that he counted.

Wellthey do say that third time’s the charm, right?

Phoenixjust hoped that Trucy would be okay.

Whilethis isn’t the first time he’s been in the detention center it’s thefirst time since Trucy was with him. But he guessed that after sevenyears she’d at least be able to take care of herself.

Ofcourse he planned on being acquitted, and he had a feeling that theJustice fellow would help him.

Everythingshould go according to plan.

The dayin his cell was pretty boring and he had not much to do.

Andthen the guard told him that he had a visitor.

Notexpecting much, Phoenix headed to the visitor’s room.

In facthe didn’t expect this at all.

How didhe have time to visit him? Wasn’t he very busy with the work theydid?

Phoenixdidn’t want anyone to worry about him, and certainly not MilesEdgeworth.

But hesaw him and now he couldn’t just go back to his cell.

Phoenixtook the designated seat and looked away.

Hecould still feel the piercing gaze on him even if he didn’t returnit.

Milescleared his throat and then spoke.

„Idaren’t stay long. I just had to see you.”

„I…didn’t expect you to come see me.”

„Why?Because only your defense lawyer can visit?”

„That’snot what I mean. Don’t you have better things to do than visitdefendants in your free time?”

„Whatif I just wanted to?”

„Unlessyou are the prosecutor on this case. I haven’t met him yet but thislateness suggests Payne or what was his name, Debeste?”

„Debestedoesn’t take cases with clearly innocent defendants and neither do I.So Payne it is. In fact he should be here anytime now. Which is why Idon’t have as much time as I’d like to have.”

„Andwhat if I really did it?”

„It’snot the first time you are here Wright.”

„Well,third’s time the charm.”

„You’ddo a better job than this if you really had to kill someone.”
