Verse of the Day - Hebrews 12:1
I go to bed thinking about writing and painting, and I get up thinking about writing and painting. In between, a lot of nonsense gets in the way. -- Michael Lipsey
Stephen Dwoskin contracted polio at age nine. He would rely on crutches for the rest of his life; eventually he would be confined to a wheelchair. For this man who could never ignore the limitations of physical life, memory, work, leisure, relationships, and above all love became bodily functions, all touched by illness and subject to its constraints.
I am the God of man! ascended from flesh, to rule the world ψ(`∇´)ψ
🌼The Buddha taught that there are five hindrances to realizing enlightenment. These are (words in parentheses are in Pali): Sensual desire (kamacchanda) Ill will (vyapada) Sloth, torpor, or drowsiness ( thina-middha) Restlessness and worry (uddhacca-kukkucca) Uncertainty or skepticism (vicikiccha) These mental states are called "hindrances" because they bind us to ignorance and to suffering (dukkha). Realizing the liberation of enlightenment requires unbinding ourselves from the hindrances🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂
Hindrance Dance
He beseeches her, “Come out and play!” She demurs and turns her head. Bemused, he asks if she’s okay; She retreats farther instead.
He tries to catch a glimpse Of that face he most holds dear; But after her, he limps, Hindered by doubts and fears.
And he doesn’t know why she hides Behind gossamer and lace– That the feelings stirring inside Are written on her flushed face.
She’s afraid he’ll see in her eyes The desire she can’t contain; Not knowing that she makes him cry, Thinking he causes her pain.
If she knew, she’d run his way And kiss away the tears he sheds, Let his eyes drink her in all day Without once turning her head.
