This is one of my favorite photos taken after my accident. This little girl right here is now five years old, four when this happened, and reacted to my accident better than most of my "friends" did. I've known Fallon since before she was born. She would visit me in the hospital and sit on my bed with me. She made me sunflowers during her arts and crafts time at school. She acted like nothing happened. She slept over at my house one night, shared my bed with me, and she told me she was scared. I asked her why since she's slept over plenty of times before and was never scared. She told me she was scared because she didn't wanna hurt my leg while she slept. I instantly had tears in my eyes and told her she had nothing to worry about. The following morning she insisted on looking at the scars on my leg. After a bit of convincing I finally showed her. She reacted by shaking her head and saying "Courtney..I never wanted this to happen to u...I'm so sorry." What kind of four year old says that?! I couldn't believe it. She's amazing. For her to come around me, to sit in my chair where my left leg would be, to her always asking me how I'm doing. To me this photo says so much...love my little Monkey. @carolineguiney @alcoholfunnycar #mymonkey #missher #ithinkaboutthisalot #amputee #doubleamputee #hipamputee #hipdisarticulation #amputeelife #amputeeproblems #wheelchair #prosthetic #prosthetics #freshoutofthehospital #nohair #theyshavedit #soskinny #64lbs #kerenlynnphotography #2bepositive #beautifulphoto #beautiful #staybeautiful
