                               Tony  has  hardly  considered  SHIELD  to  be  the   KINDEST   of  organisations,  but  when  he  found  the  file  on  their   PLANS   for  Peggy,  his  anger  toward  them  became  a   b e a s t   from  legend.  It  had  been  too  late.  So  often  had  his  tardiness  brought  him   SHAME,  and  this  moment  is  one  he  knows  will  take  an   ETERNITY   to  forget.  He  thought  they  had   d e s t r o y e d  this  secret,  selfish  part  of  SHIELD,  and  yet  Peggy  stands  confused,  clad   ONLY   in a  pale  hospital  gown,  looking  as  though  she’s  taken  a  bath  in  the  fountain  of   YOUTH.  Ignoring  the  voices  of  the  scientists,  he  pushes  through  the  doors  and  moves  to  her  side.  He  hopes  that  she   w i l l   know  him.

                            what  is  he  SUPPOSED  to  be  feeling  right  now  ?         he’d  told  howard  to  ask  her  to   W A I T   to  see  him.     why  ?       as  her  ring  took  a  SHINE  in  the  light,    he  remembered  exactly  why.       red  lips  take  to  a  purse  as  cerulean  hues  sweep  down  to  the  ground.         she  was  ENGAGED.     this  wasn’t  the  reunion  he  wanted.     the  one  where  she  ran  into  his  arms  &&  they  danced  until  their  legs  couldn’t  hold  them  up  anymore.        the  one  where  the  war  was  over  &  they  could  actually  be  together.     no,     this  was   a  CRUEL  JOKE.        ‘      ...s o r r y.    i  know  i  should  have  let  you  see  me  when  i  woke  up.    ‘
