Has anyone ever though about Hunk AND Lance being Hispanic? Because just think about how they could look at each other and silently communicate and point their noses at the thing they want the other to see while in battle. And how they could easily start speaking in Spanish in front of enemies who don't understand while they come up with a plan for escape. Or just casually on the ship in the mornings where both of them are tired and hungry and they both start mumbling "buenos dias" and when they get called over for breakfast they're both sitting next to eat other wondering why their aren't any tortillas before they remember they're not on earth. Hunk and Lance speaking to each other in Spanish just for the comfort of the other language. Both of them searching around in the kitchen to find anything closely related to rice or bean or eggs so they can make a small meal that means so much to them. Lance cursing in Spanish when something wrong happens and no one understanding but Hunk who starts laughing because he cursed even after he was specifically told to watch his language. Both of them seeing as the others are catching onto their habits of pointing to things with their nose or the way they speak/act in "usted" when talking to Shiro. Lance and Hunk having been friends forever yet slowly bonding and getting to the point where they feel like they're brothers because what they know of their heritage is probably all they have left. Hunk telling everyone hispanic ghost stories like La Llorona that to this day freak Lance out because he's hated things like that since the beginning. Lance going around singing song in Spanish because they calm him down. Hunk ends up starting to sing in Spanish too and they both join in on each other's songs if they were memes back at home. Hunk slipping up and speaking to everyone in Spanish because he's just tired and doesn't wan to bother switching to English event though he knows both languages about the same. Lance unable to translate when others ask because he's not fluent in English, yet he's been speaking if for over half his life and everyone is just like??? Hunk understanding why Lance is unable o translate because words aren't just black and white and you have to be able to use the culture to make sure others understand. Hunk teaching everyone basic Spanish so they can better communicate with a sleepy Lance who has yet to switch to speaking in English. Pidge being the first to speak Spanish with some decency, although her accent is off, and her creating a translator and installing it into everyone's helmets so that when Lance and Hunk spout things in Spanish because they're stressed or angry they know exactly what's being said. Hunk being an all around sweet guy that can play the guitar and sings beautifully so he does it and sings Spanish lullabies on the intercom when they are all sleepy. Lance and Hunk being complete nerds and plotting pranks and stuff in Spanish so no one can really understand what's going on. Both of them talking about the Spanish sitcoms like Cero en Conducta and Guereja de mi Vida. And once the crew knows Spanish them making the stupidest jokes like the ones found on those tv shows. Like they would be prime time comedians round the clock when they're not fighting zarkon. Hunk: "Ey lance para ti que es la primavera?" Lance: "Pues la hija de mi tía" Hunk: "¿Y porque?" Lance: "Porque la llamamos Prima Verá!" And both of them cracking up because it's a stupid joke but they need something to entertain themselves with. Okay this has gone long enough I'm just going to stop now.
