Can you tell us more about the reproduction and culture of the prehistoric troll type? I'm afraid I'm completely confused about their genders and sexes for now (but still very interested in learning more)
Hi Anon! Indeed I can! Well, I can try!
For prehistoric trolls, gender wasn't entirely a thing for them. I consider them something called true hermaphrodites, where both male and female reproductive organs are present at birth and both are active as well.
So Jackie's sire, Hissora, is female, she has male reproductive organs, and therefore is indeed her sire! She does have female organs as well.
Monsoon, while having masculine pronouns, does have female reproductive organs, and therefore is Jackie's mother! I am debating if he may decide to be female but that's for the future, but he has male organs as well.
In their times, there were a lot more dangerous things that came about that often caused many trolls to die, fires, fighting, floods, a whole slew of things, and so if the population was strictly male/female breeding it was likely they would've died out.
I have the belief that modern trolls are hermaphrodites as well, granted not all of them are as some have just male or female organs, but this hermaphrodite nature comes from prehistoric trolls and their means of survival. Due to the harsh reality Monsoon and Hissora lived in, gendered pronouns were more or less just titles, they didn't matter or hold weight it was merely just another way to talk about someone.
So while Jackie's sire has female pronouns and her mother has male pronouns, they're not actually male or female, it's only a secondary title to them!
