Heyy. I just wanted to ask, maybe you could recommend some historic blogs? Like yours with intresting history details or that just post about a hostoric person? Thanks in advance!! ;)
Haha sure! They’re not that diverse regarding time period - mostly 18th and 19th century French Republic and Empire stuff. Largely because I tend not to reblog what I study as I see enough of that shit the 40h a week I’m reading about it.
So, if you want ancient history, medieval history, or history that isn’t Europe I’m sadly lacking in those departments. Much to my chagrin.
So, these are some but not all:
Marzipanotter: a lot of historical clothing and fashion, that sort of thing. Louis XIV and, more importantly, his brother Philippe are big.
Somehistoriancalledmike: some history, various fandom stuff.
Valinaraii: French Empire, opera, music, art history, that sort of thing.
Joachimmurat: French Empire (obviously by the name), Wellington, Boney’s marshals, misc. other history stuff.
fapoleon-bonerparte: Napoleon Bonaparte, best emperor ever legit. French empire.
duchessofwellington: Regency era and French empire, Wellington, misc. other history things.
lediablequatre: Frederick the Great, 18th and 19th century Europe primarily I believe, misc. other things. *EDIT: and lots of anger at historical inaccuracies.
medievalwear: another historical clothing blog - Medieval and Renaissance
renaissanceart: what it says on the tin.
artmastered: various and sundry art from different time periods. Art history pretty much.
lalloronayamas: my own more historical minded blog. I update it occasionally, not very prolific with it though.
WTFarthistory: humorous blog mocking art history because as we all know, history is there to be mocked, at the very least.
visualarticfacts: again, what it says on the tin. More archeological than the other suggestions.
This Day in History: what is says on the tin.
Life of Anne Boleyn: Tudor era blog, primarily Boleyn related. Occasional forays into other personages from the time.
his name was writ: various history stuff, if there is a theme I've been remiss and haven't noticed it.
Napoleon did that: A more humorous account of the Emperor because really, wasn't isn't funny about Napoleon?
tiny-librarian: Ancient Egypt, tudor era, French monarchy (Marie Antoinette, Louis XVIII)
Sailboatmalarky: Age of sail!
Bantarleton: suggested by Joachimmurat and Lediablequatre; British history, American revolution
if anyone else has suggestions reblog with them? Awesome.
(I'm going to keep updating this list so I don't know, keep an eye on it if you so desire?)
