Repost from @historicallyblacksince • Morgan State University graduate, Valerie Thomas, is a scientist, and inventor, who contributed heavily to space research. After her college graduation, she worked as a data analyst for NASA, where she received a number of awards for her work, including the Goddard Space Flight Center Award of Merit and the NASA Equal Opportunity Medal. -In 1980 she received a patent for an illusion transmitter, which is a device that produces optical illusion images using two concave mirrors. Her invention is still being utilized by NASA, in surgeries and TV/ Video screens.
