St Albans Row - City of Carlisle. Sunrise this morning captured in the pedestrianised shopping centre at the heart of the City of Carlisle, with the clock tower of the Old Town Hall seen from St Albans Row. The sky suddenly erupted in this dramatic fashion exactly as the clock face struck 7o'clock which was an added bonus. The Clock Tower was constructed in 1717 as an extension to the Town Hall building, which was erected in 1669 to replace the even earlier Moot Hall which dates all the way back to 1345. Carlisle Cathedral - City of Carlisle. Carlisle Cathedral surrounded by blossom trees on a lovely spring morning. Here, the impressive East Window can be seen bathed in the early morning light as the sun appeared for only the first few minutes of the day.
