The Tolbooth Tavern, Falkirk.
A wee pic earlier tonight of the best wee pubs in, not just Falkrik, but Scotland. I have been a regular in this bar for over five years now and it is a very welcoming place.
The Tolbooth caters for all, a quiet place to have a chat and bite to eat during the daytime and a lively place with a cracking Karaoke over the weekends.
One of the oldest bars in this historic town, the spirits behind the bar are not the only ones that you might see here as the Tolbooth is said to be haunted, so much so that the previous landlord brought in a team of ghost busters to investigate and staged an overnight vigil.
The experts said they had detected the presence of a small child in the room with them, the seasoned professionals decided against heading into the cellar during their night there because of the bad feeling it was giving off. The old Landlord also claims that glasses have been known to tip up and one moved across a table landing on the floor and start spinning.
I must say I have never witnessed any spooky goings on, apart from at Halloween, when the Landlady, Jane encourages everyone to dress up, including all the staff. They also have regular party nights, it's like any excuse to dress up and have some fun.
If you like your karaoke the Tolbooth is a must, the host is the lovely Sharon who as well as being a great singer herself, gets everyone in the mood encouraging locals and strangers alike to grab the mike and join in.
So if you're visiting Falkirk be sure to pay Jane and the girls a visit, you wont be disappointed,
