Yesterday I had a chance to steal away to The Historic Hampton House, the last preserved green book hotel in Miami, Fl. In addition, I had a chance to meet the illustrious Dr. Enid C. Pinkney, who led a group to form a trust to save the hotel. . Once described as the “Jewel of Black Miami”, famous black people such as Martin Luther King and Muhammad Ali once stayed here during very iconic times in their lives. . The renowned movie, “One Night in Miami” is based upon current events that occurred here. .
