The first photo I’ve posted from my SS Jeremiah O’Brien self-appointed field trip. I don’t know about you, but I’m one of those people who might say in not into history...but if it’s connected to my 1940’s type story, or pretty much anything I already like, then I light up the same as when I’m geeking out about my favorite anime. This ship is amazing! I ran around snapping photos every couple of feet, marveling at the massive guns, the rusted metal, the halls, the rooms!! Such tiny rooms for four people to live in. And did you know it’s one of two left out of 2000+ made in WWII. And it’s still functional. I had to leave after a couple of hours, but I raced to see if I’d somehow missed the entrance to the wheelhouse. (where the captain controls the ship. I had to look it up again just now 🤣) I had. I opened a door I’d assumed had been locked earlier, and with my phone in hand, I snapped photos of the wheelhouse and of every room near it that I had missed - the captain’s quarters, radio room, navigation room... 😍😍😍 That last bit was my favorite part. Except maybe the engine room. I had such a blast, I hope to visit during one of the times they take the ship out in the San Francisco’s bay! I’m a geek, what can I say? #itsablueegglife . . . #ssjeremiahobrien #libertyship #geeklife #historyexplorer #geekforlife #geekout #geeklifestyle #historygeek #researchgeek #neverstopexploring #welivetoexplore #exploretocreate #girlsborntotravel #sheexplores #photooftheday #creativesofinstagram #calledtobecreative #creatives #abeautifulmess #artinprogress #ipreview via @preview.app (at Liberty Ship Jeremiah O'Brien) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtabgHOHY81/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1v8lrlrv6fmxp
