Iron Man vs Whiplash

Some people have been getting fed up with this scene in Iron Man 2

And arguing about how dumb it is that Ivan Vanko (Whiplash) didn’t just kill Tony while he was pulling on the suit. But that’s the whole point. He said “if you could make God bleed, people would cease to believe in Him.” To him, Tony Stark, was not God. Tony Stark is simply a man until he puts on the suit. Anyone can kill a man. So of course Whiplash just waited until Tony put the suit on. He had to kill and humiliate Iron Man, not just a man.
