The amount of hate Adam / Ainosuke Shindo gets in the western fandom is unreal. Like I can see why there are some aspects to him that might cause concern ( hurting Cherry with a skateboard or being a little violent while skating others during S ) but to have him compared to Dio Brando, who murdered a dog, or Hisoka Morrow, who does a bunch of terrible things as well, is just plain wrong. I roleplay him over at @braveryhearted​​ and when I try to go into his character tags, it’s mainly full of hate and posts of how they want him in jail or dead. It’s really concerning since all of the trauma he’s gone through with his god awful aunts and father. Not saying that Ainosuke Shindo is absolved from any wrong doing, but the fans of this show majority just rip into this character without giving him a chance. I think Adam is interesting and should be explored by more writers but with the way things are going, I am sure many of us who do like the character are going to be the minority. Which is a damn shame. I guess people really haven’t seen a bad guy because what Adam did was just barely scratching the surface of being quote on quote ‘evil’. There’s a difference between antagonist and villain.

Ouch.  That hit a little too close to home.

    “You... never know the answer to that until you ask.”  He sighs, running a hand down his face.  “Do you know for sure that’s the case?  Because I...”  Even with everything that had happened now, with how his life had changed, those memories were still painful.  “I thought that’s how it was.  Years ago.  I didn’t see how it could be any different.  The way he looked...”

        “So I didn’t act.  I didn’t say anything.”  His fingers curl into a fist.  “And I was wrong.  If I’d just managed to find the courage to act on my feelings... It might have saved a lot of trouble.  For both of us.  Heh...  It all worked out in the end, but... You shouldn’t make yourself suffer.”

    “If you don’t tell them, then how will you ever know?  It’s better not to keep secrets.  Harder, yeah.  And more frightening.  But... better.”  He didn’t know if that was a lesson that could be learned by anything other than experience, but it was worth a try.

"Two. Everyone always holds up the same number of fingers," Annie huffs, tentatively touching the spot where she'd smacked her head against the ground and wincing at the tenderness there. She doesn't feel dizzy anymore, just very rattled, and she can tell there's going to be a bump there.

She doesn't mind the other scrapes and cuts so much. Her pride is the most wounded out of all of it. She makes an attempt at a recovery, but the smile she offers never quite reaches her eyes. "See why I never race?"

40. Does sabotaging yourself give you an odd sense of comfort?

“Sabotaging myself..?” Lumine repeats. She wants to demand how she sabotages herself, but she knows all too well. The commissions she accepts daily. The fights she gets into on others’ behalves. The way she throws herself into every project. Or... almost every project. She’s started burning out on helping absolutely every person she comes across. And some requests are just ridiculous.

But still... What can she say? It is easier to run herself dry than it is to wallow within her thoughts. Everyone says it is the journey that matters more than the destination. But isn’t it unreasonable just how many questions weigh upon her mind? Every step forward brings less answers and more things that contradict each other.

“It keeps me... busy.”

41. How do you feel about being disliked by some people?

“It doesn’t bother me toooo much,” she drags out her words in the lethargic way she falls into when she doesn’t want someone to worry about her. “It’s impossible to be liked by everyone. Especially when you’re someone who...” Doesn’t stay. “Travels from world to world. I don’t like everyone either. Still, I hope the Fatui doesn’t like me.”

42. What’s the strangest thing you’ve done just to avoid failure?

She raises an eyebrow as she thinks. “Does getting knocked out by a sea monster god’s sea monster wife in order to protect an entire city count?”

43. What is the biggest risk you’ve taken just to prove yourself?

“Fight the Raiden Shogun, just to have a chance to speak with her. Nooot too eager to have to fight any of the Archons again, if it comes to that.”

44. What’s the boldest thing you do every day, just to feel like you’re still in control?

Teyvat is a land of rules. Not just nation to nation, but as a whole. Something more than earthly law and order. The Heavenly Principles guide Teyvat’s existence. It’s how Vision wielders gain their visions. It’s how the Seven hold such importance, despite being... people with their own struggles, hopes, wants. It’s the reason her twin continues forward as the Abyss Prince. It’s why her feet are planted upon the ground, despite how much she misses the skies.

“...Exist,” Lumine laughs humorlessly.

45. What accusation would you defend yourself most fiercely against, even though you know it’s true?

“...I’m a hero.”
