Bakuman Win Japan Academy Prizes 2016-03-05 (excerpt)
The live-action film based on the Bakuman manga won two of its six nominated categories at the 39th Annual Japan Academy Prizes on Friday, namely: Outstanding Achievement in Music (Sakanaction) and Outstanding Achievement in Film Editing (Yasuyuki Ōzeki). It also received the Popularity Award in the works category.

Good News: Live-action Bakuman film receives 6 nominations in the Japan Academy Prize Awards 2016-01-18 (excerpt)
The Japan Academy Prize Association for excellence in film announced the nominees for the 39th annual awards on Monday.
The live-action Bakuman. film also garnered six nominations, including: Director of the Year (Hitoshi Ōne), Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role (Shōta Sometani), Outstanding Achievement in Music (Sakanaction), Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction (Yūji Tsuzuki), Outstanding Achievement in Sound Recording (Shinji Watanabe), and Outstanding Achievement in Film Editing (Yasuyuki Ōzeki).
The Nippon Academy-Sho Association, a Japanese group roughly comparable to America's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Oscars fame, presents the Japan Academy Prizes every year. The nominees all receive "Awards of Excellence," but the actual top award in each category will be presented in a ceremony on March 4 at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo.
