Pike was a simple man with simple tastes. He took his coffee with simple cream and sugar. He only cared for plain, chocolate donuts. Frankly, he didn’t care much for the finer things in life. 

Unless, of course, it was for his adopted daughter, Robin “Lapis” Lazuli, then he went all out.

“ SO, I saw this blue pendant while I was out doing errands, you know, that little boutique downtown? And I saw it in the window and said to myself, ‘ you know who’d like that, Lapis would like that. ‘ So, ta-da! In honor of getting an A on that science test. ”

Honestly, it was the little things that got Mr. Torian the most excited.

“Huh? Did you say something, Miss..?” He just got through with fighting a ghost akin to Behemoth, when her soft voice caught his attention. Had it not been for heightened senses, he probably wouldn’t have heard her at all.

A strangled gasped of pure EXCITEMENT  followed  a giddy sound, almost like a giggle that meshed itself with a squeal only hyper-activeness could make. Star Butterfly was beyond thrilled--- Her reason? A BEAUTIFUL stranger that could possibly be her next best friend!

The Barn was home to two gems now, at least that's what Centipeetle knows. It's also really comfortable, and she enjoys sleeping on the random garbage that is stored in there. Although the products could probably do without being incinerated by her drip.

She watches Lapis from the pile of junk and blinks a few times, deciding to give a hello screech. Due to the fact Steven has rambled lovingly about the gem, she doesn't dislike her. Yeeeeah, the water bit is a little terrifying. Yet she wants to know someone around here.

        ☆ -- Muttered sleepily, Stevonnie blinked at the blurry image of the blue Gem. They rubbed their eyes, fighting off the last vestiges of sleepiness from their eyes. A midday nap like the one they had lifted their energy, but not immediately after. A jaw-cracking yawn left their lips.
