What is Hjalmr?
Hjalmr is a modification of my given name Hjalmer, much as Tumblr is derived from the word tumbler.
I've spent a lot of time trying to find out what my name means, and the closest I've come is “warrior”. Hjalm is the Swedish word for helmet, possibly derived from the Germanic root of helm.
Though I was being playful with my user name on Tumblr, I've since learned that the spelling variation has historical precedent.
