The history of Wong Nei Chung can be traced back to Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). An annotated map in Yue daji 粵大記 [The Grand Record of Yue (Guangdong province)] composed during the Wanli 萬曆 era, (1573-1620) documented the existence of Wong Nei Chung Village.
