After watching HK: Silksong's trailer and seeing how Hornet rest- just gotta doodle the two resting together.
Inspired by the traditional game pies that used to be staples on tables across Britain, this savory showstopper calls for a unique hot-water crust that's sturdy enough to holds its own against Martha's chicken-and-pork filling studded with pistachios and fresh herbs.
In Henrik’s Level 2 Pop’n Sweet Cafe story, Mr. Chrysler wants to celebrate the anniversary he became friends with the prince, and the nostalgia makes Henrik think of his grandmother’s Meat Pie. There are no ingredients specified other than meat obviously, but the picture kind of has a nautilus pattern with a hole in the pie, so I set out to find one that shared that feature.
The “hot-water crust” is apparently a unique, identifying feature for this recipe although I will readily admit that I have no idea about baking or pies. I can usually follow along when reading these recipes, but I have no idea what’s going on here. I mean, it’s a meat pie and looks more like the picture than some of the others did.
Maybe what’s more important here is the nostalgia for grandmother’s baking that seems to be a shared memory in culture. I can remember with great fondness of my grandmother’s “baking” which turned out to just be her dumping pudding mix on to a pre-made pie crust, and I am certain my half-brother has fond memories of his other grandmother’s pies that she brought home herself from Costco.
(No wonder nobody in my family knows how to bake.)
