Historic Launch of the First Volume of the English Edition of Hong Kong Chronicles
July 27 2022, was an unforgettable day in Hong Kong history and my career as an English Editor. It was when the first-ever launch of Hong Kong Chronicles English Edition that took place at the Hong Kong Government House.
The ceremony was officiated by the officials from the HKSAR Government, Central Government officials based in Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Chronicles Institute Executive Committee Chairman, with the witness of 44 consuls-generals in Hong Kong, heads of chambers of commerce and offices of international organisations in Hong Kong.
I did not join Hong Kong Chronicles Institute (HKCI) early enough to take part in the English translation of the first volume of Hong Kong Chronicles. Still, I got the chance to help translate and edit materials for the ceremony, including the event booklets, exhibition panels, and host scripts.
I have gained a lot of precious experiences from this event, and it’s my pleasure to work with so many talented people at HKCI.
