Arranged Marriage AU

The decision had been made out of a desire to bridge the gap between what the public were still referring to as ‘good’ and ‘evil.’ For Harry, this relationship was nothing but a means to an end, although he did feel sorry for the poor Lestrange girl that was his intended.
As he sat, waiting for her to arrive, he fidgeted with his hands. He was nervous about the whole thing, nervous that she was going to be disappointed in the husband she had been burdened with, disappointed in the life that she was now destined to lead.
When the law was originally announced Lyra seriously considered moving countries. She had always enjoyed France and with her surname she was certain she’d fit in. But then when the assignments had happened there was no shirking her duty. The name Harry James Potter appeared on the Ministry letterhead she had received. What better match for the Chosen One than the daughter of two of the Dark Lord’s cruelest lieutenants.
It could’ve been worse. The Dark Lord could’ve won and she may have been married off to Snape or someone else to purify their line. She turned her nose up at the thought. To survive and marry someone as kind as Potter seemed alright. It was better than rotting in Azkaban.
She had arranged to meet him, having never really exchanged pleasantries before. They now had a wedding to plan. Lyra showed up in a simple enough dress, her fingers toying with her necklace out of nervousness.
“Potter,” she said fondly, “I mean, Harry. Hi.” She offered him a hand.
