i think what gets me about s3 beard is that…ever since nate’s betrayal at the end of s2 (may 2021), beard had been filled with guilt and pain due to the unwelcome reminders of his own betrayal nearly twenty years prior. and those tough feelings manifested into anger and a desire to humiliate nate, because he couldn’t face what he’d done upfront. he couldn’t acknowledge it, since what he’d done to ted was the worst thing he’s ever done, in his opinion.

and I think,,,,, that’s a huge reason why his and jane’s relationship seemingly strengthened…jane has been shown, in all apologies, to like beard when he’s angry. the idea of her nurturing this pain and rage, rather than actually helping beard…her “love” for beard growing as she witnesses this budding cruelty towards nate, which affirms to beard that she loves him, she does…..she clearly loves him. he doesn’t realize that she loves his anger, and he’s definitely mistaking her newfound interest in him for genuine love,,, hm.

and the fact that it takes an entire year of this before he’s actually pushed and helped (may 2022),,,, like these feelings have been manifesting and growing for a whole year before ted says something. before someone who genuinely wants the best for beard and nate actually encourages him to face his problems head on. hm!! makes me think. especially since beard said pain is like carbon monoxide….you keep it all inside as it poisons you….yeah.

#just the idea of beard’s guilt and pain growing and growing for a whole year into anger directed towards nate #because he’s projecting his own feelings of shame onto him. and jane nurtures it!!!#she sees the anger and instead of helping she pushes him to be more angry #she makes targets out of Nate’s body for beard to throw axes at. she fans the flame #and it’s probably the most she’s ever ‘loved’ him #so who knows how she feels when he forgives not only nate but himself #or does she try her best to remind him that Nate did bad things? or does she try to place blame onto ted for leaving?#hm!!

i always kinda thought that if my art was good enough that if i drew what made me happy id find an audience but i just. Dont think its working out like that.

so like why isn’t it 'character hate' when fans bend over backwards to depict Harry as a predatory monster who exists only to abuse Jean? 🤔 why is it only 'character hate' when we get fed up with the generally ignorant if not outright vile way so many other fans are treating addicts and disability??

why are the people trying to discuss the harmful trends in fan culture always the ones 'dividing the fandom'
