OHHH so people (much of the straight ga) want to see Will suffer, not because they hate him......something secretly worse - they want to feel that empathy, they want to feel bad for him, because that means that they're not homophobic. they've got the card of oh i felt bad for gay character! that means im supportive of gay ppl :)

What happens when that character gets that happy ending and you actually have to confront your subconscious homophobia?
