♡ CARNIVAL ( rocky road )

yes, yes. finally. she’s sitting on the roller coaster and it’s happening! it’s been quite the bravery to ride it alone, but shiah has never been too big on thinking things through and she decided it all on a whim – hopefully she wouldn’t regret! at least she’s sitting next to a nice lady and not some smelling fisherman; and she’s looking pretty calm, too, so it’s all good. it should be, at least. everything will go perfectly. right. here it comes!

the ride starts and it’s very calming. it starts off slow and barely waddles forward at all and shiah is confused for a second but then – it speeds up! it’s going! really fast! and shiah is suddenly shocked and her hair is suddenly doing moves an inflatable tube man would be jealous of and her blood is boiling and she feels adrenaline rushing through her burning veins and by the time she realizes, she’s holding onto the woman next to her as if her depended on it. “we’re going to die! we’re going to die, oh my goddess, oh my goddess, harvest goddess save us, i’m going to fall out of the cart! help me!” she screams at the top of her lungs and now both her hands are grabbing onto the lady and it’s all very embarrassing and oh goddess what has she done—

♡ CARNIVAL ( gotta work on that aim )

so many people, so many faces, so many smelly armpits— shiah is definitely on the verge of freaking out after having lost her friend in the crowd that would barely even be considered in a city but in yongdam?! it’s a freaking herring party! shiah has no idea how she could lose sight of him so easily and they haven’t even agreed on a rendezvous spot to meet at in case they lost each other; mostly because none of them freaking thought it would happen!

but it did, so now shiah’s maneuvering through people, her eyes frantically looking for any familiar faces but she sees no one— no one! a frustrated sigh rolling off her tongue, she slips out of the middle of all the hustle so she wouldn’t have to stop to catch a breath right in the center of the place. she quickly combs through her hair, accidentally pulling out a few strands along the way. she sighs once again, slowly turning her head to look around for the millionth time when she notices that she stopped right next to the shooting range, something she’s been meaning to try out (just not alone). it’s obvious that the girl in control of the gun is struggling – she’s literally missing every single shot! by miles!

shiah is about to approach the girl when suddenly the gun is pointed at her and it’s a matter of two milliseconds that the bullet doesn’t get buried in her neck (of course, it wouldn’t have anyway, it’s not like it’s a real bullet, but still) and she wheezes; staring at the girl who just almost shot her in fear.

“i hope this was just a horribly missed shot and you weren’t actually trying to kill me!” she says half-joking, half-serious before straightening herself back up and taking a deep breath. a smile soon appears upon her lips which is an automatic reaction of the ever-smiling girl but also to lift the mood because the girl surely seems frustrated a bit; she’s not surprised, with an aim like that, shiah’s annoyance would be over the top at this point. “hey, give it to me, i’ll help you get whatever present you’re aiming for!” she offers, a sudden frown on her forehead. “or more like, not aiming for because you clearly have the worst aim i’ve ever seen.”

♡ CARNIVAL ( cheap thrills )

“trust me, you’re not going to regret this!”

shiah’s always been the kind of girl who would never miss out on fun unless she had to; so when the news of the carnival at yongdam reached her ears, she couldn’t have gotten more thrilled about going. it wasn’t a question of going or not; only with whom she would be attending. of course, it’s not like a carnival was like a prom where you needed to have a partner in order to appear, and probably half of marigold’s population was going to be there anyway, but shiah still thought it would be better not to go alone.

so when she found out that daehan really wanted to go but wouldn’t be allowed to do so alone, shiah stopped looking for company. she would do anything to convince him and his auntie, of course! the process of which went much better than she would have expected and once it was settled they would go together, the only thing left was the painful waiting game (which wasn’t too long, thankfully).

“we’re going to have so much fun!” she beams at daehan now that they’re on the way to the village and her mind simply won’t stop ticking, imagination going wild as she tries to fantasize about what the carnival is going to be like. she’s never heard of the van brothers before but people have been saying that they’re insanely famous and for a good reason, so shiah definitely doesn’t feel like she has anything to be afraid of.

“what are you going to try first? i hope there is going to be a ferris wheel! sitting on one has been my dream since i was, i don’t even know, very little,” she speaks, a bit faster than she should but the excitement is working her up; she’s completely unaware of how much she’s talking when she’s excited and the harvest goddest help those who are unlucky enough to be around her when she’s like that.
