Hold My Hand at Twilight, ep 1:
It took me *three days* to watch this, and I didn’t take notes. T_T
There’s a lot of down time, by which I mean moments when nothing particularly important is happening. Slowly enjoying a beverage, walking down a street, sitting or standing somewhere. It’s not bad, but it strikes me as very Japanese – reminding me of a Hayao Miyazaki movie.
I like the landlady
I foresee Soramame making clothing that Nanami (?) buys later in the series.
The ending is SO CUTE
Hold My Hand at Twilight, ep 2:
Soramame and Oto get along like siblings atm. I like how she gets him to be playful.
Please don’t go husband hunting by walking around the rich district.
I don’t know if I like Manbo, but I don’t like Ariel.
Kyoko has a nice singing voice. And great hair.
Look, Shota should still pay for the elevator. He promised it. He set it in motion. Have him pay for it.
I get the feeling Soramame and Sosuke are going to be a pair for a bit, and I don’t know how I feel about it. He’s like 40-something and she’s 23. He’s said he plans to get married as casually as buying raddish.
Hold My Hand at Twilight, ep 3:
Omg she proposed. Like buying raddish.
Oto asked this lady on a date on the same day as Soramame and Sosuke because he wants to see Soramame there.
Whoa Sosuke’s English. I wasn’t expecting it, even though they said he worked abroad.
Ugh. Scammed.
When Sosuke speaks English, he sounds like 20 years younger.
Goddammit, Sosuke.
The fact that they were like ‘I’ll kill you with bean bags!’ and then paused, helped each other move the table out of the way, before diving for the toys was perfection.
Oh snap. He asked her to stay.
Hold My Hand at Twilight, ep 4:
This family is so chaotic XD I love them.
This fashion lady is Soramame’s mother. I’m calling it.
Soramame discovers FASHION.
Making Oto a pair debut with so little discussion seems like a bad idea, but I don’t know the business.
Don’t you DARE cut up that Oscar de la Renta dress! Oh my GAWWWWDDDD
Oh thank god.
Stop making me feel like this show has a sad ending, voice overs.
Whoa, was not expecting her to do a sleep kiss. No sleep kisses in this house, girl.
Hold My Hand at Twilight, ep 5:
Someone opened the Pandora’s Box of fashion for Soramame and she’s now filled with Visions. She’ll design until her fingers fall off. She can make fashion out of a kitchen curtain, three bobby pins, and a burlap sack.
I like the rebellion with the overweight singer (name?) getting called ‘Celine Dion’ and seen as beautiful and moving, and Soramame making a dress out of sheets of fabric (I was like, no way she can SEW something fast enough, but my bobby pin statement holds true), and the backdrop and fans to blow it all around and people recording it on their phones. That thing is going viral.
“I think it’s amazing to continue to run a store with a hundred years of history.” I like that the show says Dreams are good and you should chase them, but it doesn’t need to be flashy. Keeping heritage going is also admirable.
And Seira falls for Soramame. That’s my head canon and I’m sticking to it.
Look, lady, you could’ve left in a less traumatic way. That was just cruel.
