Mingyu pulled a forest green cardigan over his arms as he made his way outside, rubbing his kitten in between her ears as he passed by the windowsill where she was taking a nap. “I’ll be back later, Haneul,” he murmured, exiting the house and shutting the door tight behind him. A few of the sheep followed the sound of his footsteps with their pretty bleats and Mingyu had to force himself to ignore them, knowing he had to be at the library in case any students showed up in need of tutoring. His hours were strictly stated on the ad he posted, after all, and he didn’t want to make a bad impression if anyone showed up.
He made his way towards the library on his bike, humming under his breath as he pedalled. Once he reached the building he anchored his bike alongside the others outside, making his way in with a small smile on his face. The fresh scent of books wafted over to him as he entered, looking around and grabbing a novel off the shelf. He was pleased to find his usual seat empty, a large armchair across from a few others that were buried in their books.
A familiar face caught his attention and he smiled, crossing his legs as he settled against the cushions. He had seen the same kid over the past few weeks, seated in Mingyu’s area, and had to admit he was pretty cute. Kind of like a puppy. It wasn’t often Mingyu watched him- that was too creepy for him- but he did notice whenever he passed by or left that the kid was always with a textbook. Mingyu assumed he was in university, which explained how he looked distracted every now and then. Mingyu didn’t blame him; school was tough sometimes, and he had his fair share of getting lost in comic books when he had finals week looming over him. Mingyu smiled at the memory and flipped over to the first chapter of his novel.
