The trusted One ~

It was a nice day, not too hot nor too cold and it wasn't too busy either.  Hyemi told her employee Wendy that she would take a short break and walked along the water for a little. The feeling of the sand between her toes and the ocean water around her feet was just so relaxing. The waves playing a symphony to accompany the feeling. She smiled closing her eyes and taking in the salty smell that hung in the air. These were the moments that gave her peace. 

 After 15 minutes she returned to the bar and told Wendy that she could take a break as well now. Some people were sitting at the tables enjoying their cold beverages and chatting so there was not much to do for the girl behind the counter. So she just scribbled on a piece of paper, doodling little shapes. But even that got boring after a few minutes.

So she just observed her surroundings again only to notice a figure walking through the sand, in the direction of her bar. The closer the person was coming, the better she could see who it was. Turns out it was a well known face around town. “Oh, hello Father Kim. What a nice surprise to see you here.” she greeted the man.

                                                                                 crafted so finely,                                                   by a heart and hands gentle as thee.                                                         each week a different message ;                                       each week her hearts burns a bigger flame.            pink carnations say,                            “how could i forget you?”            lavender heathers say,                           “i admire you, but you don’t know that.”            scarlet zinnias say,                           “i’m constantly thinking about you.”           variegated tulips say,                         “your eyes are beautiful.”                                                                          but perhaps one day,                                                                           maybe the last day...                                                            she’ll send him [ sweet peas ]

                    because ( t h e y ) say,                                                            “goodbye.”                                                                 and                                              “thank you for a lovely t i m e.”

dear SUN, 

          did you know she stops every time her eyes align with yours? did you know she’s blinded by your whites and hears none else but you? she knew not one human whom is steadfast as you. no one who speaks with faith and boldness like you. 

          you, sun, are bright and big, wholesome and humble, & grand and strong. none wondered why she fancies the sun, for no reason would ever come to mind.

          in your dark wardrobe, you walk down the alter still more golden than others in glistening colors. all attention is on you and no one dares to interrupt. she awes and knows how you earned the deserving spot yet her heart is heavy and burdened --- drowned in a constant deep pool of dark thought. 

          she is not as great as thee. 

          so, shall she move on?
