Selling the Answer || Alex & Ruby
“Hey there! My name is Alex, I live in the neighbourhood and I was wondering if you were interested in-” Aleks held up a flyer advertising a new catalog which included everything from houseware to hardware with a bright expression on his face. And of course he was trying to sell the ‘new’ steam vacuum cleaner. God, he needed a new job. He just needed the work experience to achieve a new career in car sales.
However, the door was immediately slammed shut in his face. Aleks gave a fake closed smile in annoyance before he chimed with a passive aggressive tone, “OooKAY. Fuck you too.” Alex nodded once to the closed door and turned on his heels toward the next household along. “Right Alex - one more rude client and you are dramatically going to throw your red tie down the nearest drain,” he muttered to himself.
He chapped on the door twice, waiting patiently for the other to answer. In fact he kind of hoped no one did answer so he could quit this dead end sales job straight away. Unfortunately, he heard foot steps and the door opening, revealing a young woman standing at the door way.
“Hey, how are you doing this afternoon? Well firstly my name is Aleksandr, but you can call me Alex if you’d like. I live in the neighbourhood, and I was wondering what vacuum cleaner you currently use, if any?” He signed, “Look uh- I’m just like you people, I promise I’m not some manipulative ass-hole.” Well that was a lie now that he thought on it. “I’m just told to sell this bullshit so I can make some sort of living like anyone else,” by the end of the speech he was already so fucking sick of door-to-door sales work.
