this beautiful lady right here is one of alec's best friends. while alec was born & raised in london, he spent a lot of time here during the holidays after his parents split up and his mom moved back to her hometown. so he's probably known this lovely lady since his teens at least (i haven't worked out an exact timeline shh). growing up alec was a flirt and he was known to have a lot of flings and fwb's but he was always very clear that he was never looking for something serious. he's affectionate and craves touch so he was a v. sexual person. whether or not she was always just a friend or she was something more is up for discussion but i think that there were definitely feelings (on both sides) that got ignored or maybe brushed off as 'casual' when that wasn't the case. alec came and went a lot, but he would have definitely stayed in touch with her via the internet, letters, calls, texts, whatever, and always made it a point to spend time with her when he was in town.

when he moved to cali for college he probably made it a point to visit more often and likely offered to fly her out to visit him (he's loaded okay) but again things stayed in a limbo (friends or fwb's w/e) and she was likely around when he was in his messy relationship with his now 6-year-old daughter aurora's 'rory' mom. which when he found out he'd knocked her up was the first time he ever really tried to do the relationship thing. he never planned on having kids but he kind of fell into a domestic role throughout the pregnancy and found he kind of actually liked it - despite the drama with his now ex. a few months after rory was born the ex decided she was not enjoying the role and left the two of them, which was the driving force in alec deciding to move to beaumont, to be near family that could help him navigate being a single dad.

BUT i'd like to offer another option. maybe it's not just him. maybe she's been in a long-term relationship and she's just recently single again too. or maybe she was for a time and both of them were happy with their friendship (possibly fwb) roles for the last couple of years but with him getting back into dating she is like okay fine me too and does the same and triggers his jealousy?

skylar, sky, is one of the kindest, sweetest people you'll ever meet. she will always drop everything for a friend before she even knows what you need, she's a wonderful listener (specify if you need her to listen or offer advice through or she'll immediately assume you want advice), she has a hard time saying 'no' to anything, she always has fresh flowers & baked goods (especially cupcakes) in her home, she is in the middle of at least two books (one's always romance), she falls in love fast and hard and forgives far too easily & believes in fairy tales. what she needs: family - she's the youngest daughter of a founding family (the daniels), i'll need her older brother and sister (parents too if you're so inclined) and would love some extended family for her on both sides of her family! friends - she needs a group of friends, a couple girls, a couple guys. people that she's close to, people that stand up for her when she doesn't stand up for herself (which is often), and push her out of her comfort zone when she needs it. career - she owns a flower shop & nursery in town called the secret garden that she opened about five-ish year ago when she returned to beaumont (she left to pursue an acting career both in nyc and then la before coming home when she realized she didn't have the skin for it.) on & off boyfriend - this one's a little [tw] so i won't get into details but she's currently in a toxic messy on and off dance with another founding family's son (the carter's but this is negotiable - and what you do with the founding family is mostly up to you!) Nick Bateman 36-38 // open career // founding family kid messy on & off temporary romance

i like messy twisty things, and sky is so sweet and innocent that i can't help but want to mess with her. so this guy is not meant to be a stand-up guy, (at least not with her, maybe someone else can change that) and they are meant to be on and off, and ultimately they will not end up together. this ad is for the sole purpose of breaking sky's heart (repeatedly). i have nick bateman bc honestly, he's sexy af lmfao but this is pretty open? i would like it if he were 36-38

meet nick he's the son of another founding family and he's extremely charismatic, charming, and has a silver tongue, he can get away with almost anything (and has many many times over) and he's used to getting what he wants when he wants it. then there's sky who's a little naive and truly believes in love, so she easily fell for his charms. but he's not exactly her prince charming. in addition to being charming, he's manipulative and a cheater, and she's caught him cheating on several occasions, and there were probably many more that she's not aware of. but again, he's charming and she's a little naive which doesn't necessarily work in her favor.

basically, sky has been with this guy on and off for a while now, and their relationship is a messy, toxic cycle. he cheats on her, she finds out and breaks up with him; a few weeks, months later, he's back begging for her forgiveness with empty promises that he'll be better, that it won't happen again. she forgives him, they have mindblowing kinky makeup sex, and it's wonderful for a few weeks, maybe a month or two before it happens again. and this has been going on for since high school. though she did leave a little after high school for nearly a decade what happened during that time is open, but when she came back they fell right into their old messy habits? although i feel like it didn't get really messy/toxic until after she came back about 6/7 years ago. they might have even been almost okay in high school?

deep down she knows that he's never going to be faithful, but she loves him, and she wants to believe that it'll be different, that maybe she'll be enough. she believes that part of his heart does belong to her because why else would he keep coming back? and maybe she's right, and in his twisted way, he does love her, or maybe it's that just that he knows she'll always forgive him, or it's obsession & possession, or maybe it's the sex - that's up to you! this is not her endgame ship but i would like a good chance to play with the on/off cycle a bit before she finally comes to her senses and moves beyond him.
