Using a smartphone the illusion of holographic images can be replicated using an illusion technique called peppers ghost. The light from the phone display is projected onto a clear 3-D trapezoid shape. Many apps have been created with image and video content specifically designed for building a 3-D holographic template. Four sides of the image are projected onto the 3-D trapezoid.
