Now for another side of Japan. I was too exhausted to talk about it at the time--but I was held in #immigrationprocessing upon disembarking from the 18-hour trans-Pacific journey. They held me for an hour because my name, face, and travel history caused a hit in their database. The immigration officer and supervisor appeared shocked by the alternate Nam Le's record and that we clearly looked alike. I was diverted to a #holdingroom that was dirty, which was only startling in dissonance of the cleanliness of the rest of #touristjapan . The most depressing thing was the crib among the waiting room chairs. It reminded me of #visarefusal scenes in many movies and shows, most recently in #narcos so I minded my manners. My mom wasn't as accommodating to Japanese immigration and was loud. Let's just say I was stressed a little. Though she was #badass in her own, inimitable style. Obviously, they cleared up what they deemed a #mixup , so now, here are more pics of #Shinjuku #dusktodawn . #battingcages at midnight are classic. (at 歌舞伎町 Shinjuku Kabuki Cho)
