America is in its death throes.

That’s not my statement — it’s the warning Plato gave 2,400 years ago in Book VII – The Republic.

And in reality, America is sliding into the authoritarian rule of a MAGA crowd in red hats, waving Confederate flags. But this is not some sudden outburst — it’s the result of a long accumulation, a process in which America’s own elites created the very monster that is now turning back to bite them.

The real fault line lies in the abandoned working class of rural America — especially in the Midwest, where globalization drained away the steel mills, auto plants, and machine factories to China. Out of this devastation, while America’s oligarchs grew richer, two separate worlds have emerged.

Donald Trump may be brash, boastful, emotional, and full of fake news… but at least people understand what he wants.

Meanwhile, the Ivy League graduates throw around phrases like “multilateral engagement,” “rule-based framework,” “inclusive prosperity.” The average American just scratches their head and says:

“Uh… what did you just say?”

Trump is not the savior of America — he is the symptom born out of the long neglect of the underclass by the elites.

When politics is reduced to jargon, ordinary people begin to doubt whether “truth” itself has any meaning — especially when it comes blaring through the megaphones of CNN, AP, Reuters, Brookings, and the rest.

Why? Because the sweet moral rhetoric of the elites has proven, for decades, to save no one.

When Ivy League elites build a political system in a language so aristocratic that only they can understand it, the common people will turn to anyone who speaks in a way that makes them feel: “I’m being heard. I’m not stupid.”

Even if that voice comes wrapped in fake news, conspiracy theories, or QAnon.
