hahaha YAY I'm glad you liked it! I have so many longstanding feelings about FitzSimmons & Kaylee/Simon. (Although tbf in I'm Mechanics, He's Medical their outfits are reversed.)

To Grump or Not to Grump (meme)
I think I got it during class and then spent the rest of class time thinking about it, lol. It ended up being a BrOT3 ficlet instead of a straight-up OTP fic because I was trying to decide between FitzSimmons and I just… kind of couldn’t. Partly because they’ve known each other so long that I feel like their holiday habits would be well known by each other by now, and partly because I feel like Fitz is VERY. VERY. INTENSE. about celebrating the holidays - but that he’d have strict guidelines for said celebrating, lol. Simmons (in my headcanon) is just a little to work-focused to want to start celebrating the holidays too far before they happen (except maybe to needle at Fitz a bit), so their respective conceptions of holidays sort of jell nicely.
And then there was Skye. Who is absolutely the ridiculous, holiday-obsessed best friend they’ve both always needed. I decided all this within the span of a couple seconds, as soon as I read the message. Then I decided to put in the same verse as I’m Mechanics, He’s Medical because the timeline just fit perfectly - the day after Halloween, and all.
The thing is that I didn’t want Fitz to be a perpetual grump - A) it’s too expected of him and B) Holiday!Verse Fitz is too happy to be purely grumpy all the time. Besides, as I said, my headcanon for him is that he’s VERY into the holidays - just at the appropriate time. So I twisted it around a bit at the end, by letting Skye get a little comeuppance for teasing Fitz at the beginning. Plus, I couldn’t resist the image of Holiday-dressed FitzSimmons grinning down at Skye - what goobers.
