Time To Hit The Reset Button
December, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! For most I’m sure the happy moments overshadowed the rainy amount of stress with added expenses, and the occasional in-law visiting from out of town. I’m almost positive that despite Andy William’s death due to bladder cancer in 2012, he spent many years reliving this wonderful time enthusiastically singing along to the very track that will forever be ingrained in the cultural phenomenon known for holiday consumerism.
I have to admit, I agree. It is the wonderful time of the year to a certain degree. Minus the events that took place just before the holidays.
I crashed my car on one of the worst days Seattle traffic has ever seen. My intended destination? School.
That’s right one week left of finals, one week left of full-time school, and work within the same scheduling parameters. Then I would be rewarded with a blissful two week vacation as crunch time in the retail world became a mass of impending reality.
Remember those in-laws who were meant to visit? Well, let’s just say I gave them a bone crushing hug with my car leaving it totaled going 25mph, and them with nothing but a nice imprint of blue.
I bet they wish they had stayed in the sunshine state.
So now I am one car less of an independent commute home.
As a student making just above minimum wage, and attempting college for the second time, it is a wonder why affording a new car might be problematic for me. To illustrate further on this premise let me point out my limited optíons.
Bike ( Please let this be true)
Higher Insurance Premiums
So while I’ve created virtually zero New Year’s resolutions, I now have a mission for 2016, paired with a side quest or two.
Wait for insurance to finalize details on damaged vehicle.
Find a bike that suits my needs and price range.
Blog (not wine) about it here.
